Covering the language

Language is constantly changing and reshaping through memory and the body. When language is veiled, it doesn’t vanish—it transforms and becomes even more noticeable. In this work, writing loses its readability and takes on a different role: no longer a vessel for information, it becomes a trace that speaks through absence as much as through form.
The writing in this work resists legibility; it invites not the eye but the hand. Like a tactile alphabet, it recalls both the Braille system used by the visually impaired and the symbolic language embroidered into traditional Turkish bedcovers (yorgan). In both cases, meaning is carried not through visual clarity but through touch, memory, and gesture, offering a quiet form of communication embedded in material and pattern
Dilin üzerini örtmek

Dil durağan değildir; hafıza ve bedenle sürekli yeniden şekillenir. Üzeri örtülen dil, görünürlüğünü kaybetmek yerine belirginleşir. Okunabilirliğin tamamen silindiği bu düzlemde yazı, bilgi taşımaktan çok bir iz bırakma işlevi üstlenir.
Çalışmada yazı okunabilirliğe direnirken dokunsal bir alfabe gibi, Braille alfabesini hem de geleneksel Türk yorganlarına işlenmiş sembolik dili hatırlatıyor. Her iki durumda da anlam, görsel netlikle değil; dokunuş, hafıza ve jest aracılığıyla taşınıyor. Malzeme ve desenin içine gömülü sessiz bir iletişim biçimi sunuyor.
